Good Stimulus Payment news for Social Security, SSI, and Veterans Benefit Recipients who did not get the additional $500 per qualifying dependent!

If you are a Social Security, SSI, or Veterans Benefits recipient and did not claim the extra $500 stimulus payment (the CARES Act Economic Impact Payment, or EIP) for the children you take care of, you now have until September 30th to claim the payment through the IRS website.

This option is only for these benefit recipients who do NOT have a tax filing obligation. The dependents must have been no older than 16 in 2019 and have lived with you for more than half of that year, and they must be your children, grandchildren, siblings, or nieces and nephews.

People who do not receive these benefits and who do not have filing obligation have until October 15, 2020 to use the IRS website to claim the stimulus payment for themselves and their qualifying dependents.
