Hotlines

Calling one of our Hotlines is the fastest way to speak with a PLA advocate about your legal issue.

Happy Holidays from Philadelphia Legal Assistance! PLA's office and all hotlines will be closed starting Wednesday, December 24th.

The Save Your Home Philly Hotline and PLA's office will reopen on Monday, December 29, then close again at noon on January 31. PLA's offices and hotlines will reopen on Monday, January 5.

The Custody Help Center and Family Law Hotline will be closed the weeks of December 22 and December 29 and will reopen Monday, January 5, 2026.

General Intake will be closed beginning Tuesday, December 23, 2025, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026. During this time, you may complete an online application at philalegal.org/apply. Intake staff will contact you regarding your application during the week of January 5.

If you have an unemployment compensation claim and have already been assigned a hearing date and are seeking representation from PLA, you must request a continuance in writing from the Referee’s office and complete an online intake at philalegal.org/apply. Intake staff will contact you on or after January 5.

Regular intake hours resume January 5, 2026.

For help with home mortgages, sheriff sales, or tangled titles call the Save Your Home Philly Hotline at 215-334-HOME (4663) between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Outside of these hours, callers can leave a message and get a call back from a PLA advocate.

For help with child custody, leaving an abusive home, or another family issue, call the Family Law Hotline at 215-981-3838. The hotline currently operates between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

For help with unemployment compensation, tax issues, or any legal other issue, call the General Intake Hotline at 215-981-3800 between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  

If your legal problem is SSI, you need to apply to Community Legal Services (CLS) for assistance.  Your case may be referred from CLS to PLA.  For the intake hours at CLS, see the SSI page of CLS's web site
